Botulinum toxin

Softens expression lines naturally, without freezing your expression.

Botulinum toxin

What it involves

Botulinum toxin gently relaxes the muscles behind expression lines (frown lines, forehead and crow's feet). The goal is a natural result that rests the gaze and softens the expression without losing character. After a medical assessment we define the exact dose and injection points for your face.

Benefits

  • A more rested gaze
  • Natural, reversible result
  • No downtime

Who is it for?

Botulinum toxin is suited to those who notice expression lines on the frown area, forehead or crow's feet and want to soften them without losing their natural expressiveness. It can also be a good option for those looking to slow the progressive deepening of these lines.

During the prior assessment we evaluate your facial muscle activity, your expressions and what you hope to achieve, to confirm that this is the right technique for you. Not every line has the same indication, and that consultation allows us to offer an honest, personalised proposal.

What the session is like

The session always begins with an assessment during which we map the injection points tailored to your facial anatomy and typical expressions. The technique involves very precise, superficial micro-injections; no anaesthesia is needed, though we can apply cold to improve comfort if you prefer.

Time in the clinic is brief, so you can return to your usual activities straight away. Before you leave we go through the aftercare steps to follow in the first few hours to get the best from your treatment.

Results and how long they last

The first changes are usually noticed gradually over the days following the treatment, and the result settles in progressively. How long it lasts varies from person to person depending on individual factors such as metabolism, muscle tone and the area treated.

To maintain the effect we recommend repeating the treatment when you notice your muscle activity returning; at the follow-up visit we assess together the right time to do so. Frequency is adjusted over time according to how your response evolves.

Aftercare

For the first few hours avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas and do not lie face down. It is also advisable to skip intense exercise and avoid sources of high heat (sauna, direct sun) on the day of treatment.

You can apply make-up as usual from four hours after the session. If you have any questions after your treatment, please don't hesitate to get in touch — we always follow up to make sure you are happy with the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does a botulinum toxin session hurt?
The micro-injections are very superficial and most people describe them as a mild, momentary discomfort. No anaesthesia is needed, though we can apply local cold if you are particularly sensitive. The session is brief and generally very well tolerated.
When will I start to notice the effect?
The result is not immediate: changes are usually noticed gradually over the days following the treatment and the effect settles in progressively. If after two weeks you have any questions about the outcome, we can arrange a review to assess it together.
Is there any downtime?
There is generally no downtime: you can return to your usual activities the same day. Small bruises or temporary redness at the injection points may appear and typically resolve within a few days. We will go through all the aftercare instructions before you leave.
Are there any contraindications or situations where it is not recommended?
Yes. Common contraindications include pregnancy and breastfeeding, certain neuromuscular conditions and some medications. This is why a prior medical assessment is essential: during the consultation we review your medical history and answer any questions before recommending the treatment.
