What it involves
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a technique that uses your own blood: after a small blood draw, it is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, which are then applied to the skin or scalp. Because it is an autologous product, meaning it comes from you, it naturally stimulates cell regeneration, collagen and tissue blood supply. Dr. Clara Navarro uses it to improve the quality and radiance of the facial skin and to reinforce hair in weakened areas, always with a gradual, natural approach.
Benefits
- 100% your own product
- Stimulates collagen and regeneration
- Reinforces skin and hair
Who is it for?
It may be for you if you want to improve the quality of your facial skin, gain radiance and firmness naturally, or if you notice finer, weaker hair and want to strengthen it. As it uses your own blood, it is very well tolerated and especially appealing if you prefer treatments without external substances. In your first consultation we assess your skin or scalp and review your history to confirm whether PRP is suitable for your case.
What the session is like
The session begins with a small blood draw, just like a routine test. That sample is spun in a centrifuge for a few minutes to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then applied through micro-injections into the facial skin or the scalp. We use topical anaesthetic for your comfort and the full session usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, after which you can carry on with your day as normal.
Results and how long they last
PRP works by stimulating your own regeneration mechanisms, so the improvement is gradual and becomes visible over the following weeks: on the face, more luminous, smoother, better-quality skin; in the hair, a gradual reinforcement of the treated area. It is usually planned as a protocol of several sessions to enhance the effect, and results vary from person to person. With check-ups and a maintenance plan we help preserve the improvement over time.
Aftercare
After the session it is normal to notice slight redness, swelling or small marks at the application sites, which settle quickly. We recommend avoiding make-up for the rest of the day, as well as intense heat, direct sun exposure and strenuous exercise during the first 24-48 hours. Follow the personalised instructions we give you and contact the clinic with any questions.
