We treat them by combining, depending on each case, hyaluronic acid to fill and rehydrate the area and botulinum toxin to relax the muscle that marks the wrinkles. Who is it for?
This is for you if the small vertical lines above your upper lip bother you, whether visible at rest or when you move your mouth. Also if you notice your lip contour looking duller or dehydrated. At the first consultation we assess your skin and movement to decide whether hyaluronic acid, botulinum toxin or a combination of both is most suitable.
What the session is like
The session starts with an assessment of the area and, if needed, we apply a numbing cream for greater comfort. The treatment involves very precise micro-injections along the lines and lip contour; it usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. It is a well-tolerated procedure and you can return to your daily routine almost straight away.
Results and how long they last
When we use botulinum toxin, the effect appears gradually over the first few days and is complete at around two weeks, with an approximate duration of three to four months. Hyaluronic acid offers a more immediate result in the area, which can last several months depending on the product and your skin. Results are individual and we review them with you at the clinic.
Aftercare
After the session it is normal to notice slight redness or small marks that settle quickly. We recommend not massaging the area, avoiding intense heat and strenuous exercise during the first few hours, and keeping your lips well hydrated.
